About Us

Marine Enterprises is a family run business founded in the early 1930's in New York City
catering to the shipping industry for all types of equipment including rugged seafaring apparel.
Being of Norwegian descent, it was only natural to add a line of custom sweaters
made from 100% pure new Norwegian wool.
Our search for a manufacturer led us to Norlender, a family owned company in
business for as many years as we have been.
We are confident that you will feel the same as we do about the quality and care
put into every sweater.

Suggestions

A little about the people who produce our sweaters


Norlender's home is on the Island of Osterøy, on the western coast
of Norway, 45 km from Bergen. With its varied scenery of fjords
and mountains, Osterøy is a Norway in miniature.

Osterøy is also Northern Europe's largest inland island, being 90% surrounded
by land yet having salt water fjord and an outlet to the sea.

Osterøy has a rich industrial and cultural tradition,
which our factory has been a part of for more than 70 years.

Norlender's unique designs are based on Norway's knitting heritage
from which we have developed knitwear for the modern man and woman.
Combined with modern production methods and quality yarns,
Norlender produces knitwear which will give pleasure for many years.

The product photos in this web site are taken on location at
Fjordslottet Hotel, which is situated in picturesque surroundings
in Fotlandsvåg, a few kilometers from Norlender AS.

Product Information

Norlender is proud to be one of the few Norwegian manufacturers still
producing all of its garments in Norway. All raw materials used in Norlender
garments are produced in Norway. Knitting and garment assembly is carried out at
its factory in Hosanger on the Island of Osterøy.


 Shipping

Orders are usually shipped the next working day if in stock.
All orders over $ 100.00 are shipped FREE anywhere in the world which includes most everything except for our mittens, hats & kids' sweaters. A minimum shipping charge of $ 25.00 applies to orders under $ 100.00.
Most orders are shipped directly from Norway via Priority Mail and typically take 2 weeks.
Out of stock items could take up to 30 days to ship.
Orders shipped via Priority Mail are more likely to make it through without receiving a customs duty tax which can be over 16%.

Customs

We mark international packages as containing the specific description of your order and state the cost of the item on the customs documentation. You may be responsible for local import taxes in your area. Customs or import duties are levied once the package reaches your country. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you may want to contact your local Customs office for further information. We do all we can to make sure a package is not picked up by customs by marking a personal name as the shipper and placing the value of the package as low as possible so that if it does get picked up, the charges are minimal.

Returns & Exchanges

If you're not satisfied, whatever the reason, return the item to us for an exchange or a full refund within thirty (30) days (less any shipping, handling and gift wrapping charges - minimum of $ 15 for Domestic & $ 25 for International).

Packages must be returned prepaid—we do not accept C.O.D. deliveries.

Contact us for all return authorizations on our contact page:

  • Returns must be 100% complete, in original and resalable condition, with all original packaging, and contents. Only unwashed, unworn, or defective merchandise may be returned. We reserve the right to refuse a return on any product that does not meet these requirements. 

  • No refunds or exchanges will be made after thirty (30) days under any circumstances.

  • No returns will be accepted without a Return Authorization (RA) number. To request a Return Authorization, please email us on our contact page. RA numbers are valid for 10 business days after issue, and must be recovered in our warehouse within that time period.

  • Once you have contacted us for a return, we will issue you a RA number and shipping instructions.

  • We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages. Please use shipping method that can be tracked. We recommend you insure the parcel when shipping higher-priced items. Packages must be returned prepaid—we do not accept C.O.D. deliveries.

  • Subsequent to an approval authorization, a credit to an account or issuance of a check may take up to 30 days.

  • We will only refund shipping charges if we've sent the wrong item or if the item sent is defective.

  • Refused returns or exchanges will be shipped back to the customer at the customer's expense.

  • Exchanged sweaters will be charged $ 15.00 per sweater to cover shipping charges ($ 25 for International).

  • Specials and Sale items purchases are final.

What about Customs?

How do I add items to my Shopping Bag?

After selecting a specific product, click on the "Order" link located on every product detail page.
This will bring you to the shopping cart item order page where you select the size and color.
Click on "Add to Cart" to place item into your shopping cart. You have the option to continue to shop or check out at any time.

Help! I put the wrong sized shirt in my shopping bag. How do I edit size, color, or quantity from the shopping bag?

Don't fret. While you're in the shopping cart area, click the "+ or -" button located next to the item's name. Go back at any time you choose to correct your order at the item page, where any aspect of the selection (size, color, quantity) may be changed. Click on "Add to Cart" to save changes.

How do I add or remove  items from my Shopping Bag?

While you're in the shopping bag area, click the "- or +" button located next to the item's name. There's also a "Dump Cart" button that allows you to clear all items from the cart at once.

How do I save the contents of my Shopping Bag?

Don't worry, if you place an item inside your Shopping Bag and leave the site, we'll remember your Shopping Bag contents for 24 hours.
